ISO 45001 is an ISO standard for management systems of occupational health and safety (OHS), published in March 2018. The goal of ISO 45001 is the reduction of occupational injuries and diseases, including promoting and protecting physical and mental health.

The standard is based on OHSAS 18001 conventions and guidelines of the national standards.

It includes elements that are additional to OHSAS 18001 which it is replacing over a three-year migration period from 2018 to 2021.

As of March 2021, companies and organisations should have migrated to ISO 45001 to retain a valid certification, although ISO has extended the transition period for up to six months for organisations adversely affected by COVID-19.

ISO 45001 follows the High Level Structure of other ISO standards, such as ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, which makes integration of these standards easier

ISO 45001 is a global standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems that provides a practical solution to improve the safety and health of both employees and other personnel. This ISO 45001 standard has been designed to apply to any company regardless of its size, type and nature.

The ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) training enables the organisation to improve its occupational health and safety performance to prevent injury and ill-health.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF GETTING CERTIFIED TO ISO 45001?

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) certification can be presented in a way that displays your organisation’s commitment to providing a workplace where the risk of illness or injury to your workers, community or customers is eliminated or minimalised.

BENEFITS OF IMPLEMENTING ISO 45001 CERTIFICATION

  • Acquire globally recognised TÜV SÜD certification mark
  • Enhances the involvement of leadership and participation from workers

BENEFITS OF ACQUIRING ISO 45001 CERTIFICATION FOR YOUR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:

  • Helps in building trust and brand integrity by providing an assurance that your management system qualifies the requirements of the international standard
  • The certification also demonstrates that your management system complies with the international standard

HOW WILL YOUR COMPANY BENEFIT FROM THE CERTIFICATION?

One of the significant business benefits of ISO 45001 certification includes assisting your firm with the help of a systematically structured guide that will enhance your organisation’s performance. The goal of running ISO audits is to find non-compliances and seek to improve the inadequacies, with the ultimate goal of providing your organisation with improved performance and productive results.

HOW WILL IT IMPACT PRODUCTIVITY?

Another key benefit of ISO 45001 implementation in your organisation is that it paves a way towards fewer workplace injuries and illnesses through a proactive approach to hazard identification and risk assessment, leading to improved organisational health and safety. With an ISO 45001 certification, companies demonstrate that they have taken every crucial step to protect the workers by eliminating ineffective practices, which helps the employees deliver more in a stipulated time due to effective systems.
